The questions we hear first.

Straight answers on what an Apex Opinion is, what it costs, what we need from you, and what our specialists do and do not do.

A medical second opinion is an independent review of your diagnosis and treatment plan by another qualified physician. At Apex Opinion, that physician is a US board-certified specialist who studies your complete records and provides a clear written assessment you and your doctor can use together.

Request an Apex Opinion, upload your medical records through our secure guided intake, and we match you with a US board-certified specialist in your condition. You receive a written second opinion, typically in 5 to 7 business days, with the option to discuss it on video. The entire process happens online.

Apex Opinion consultations start at ₹48,000 for a comprehensive written second opinion. Your total is itemized before you pay anything: the specialist's professional fee and the Apex Opinion platform fee. There are no hidden charges and no insurance paperwork.

Published research suggests it can be. In a study at a leading US cancer center, independent expert reviews brought new considerations to light in roughly one of every three cases. And even when a review supports your current plan, that reassurance has real value. Whatever your report says, every decision about your care remains with you and your treating physician.

Most useful before a major, hard-to-reverse treatment: a cancer protocol, a significant heart procedure, major surgery, or a choice between an open operation and a less invasive one. In those moments a second look adds information at the point where it can still shape the conversation with your treating physician. It is less often needed for minor or routine procedures.

No. You share records from home, your specialist reviews them remotely, and your report is delivered to your secure account. There is no travel, no visa, and no waiting room.

No. Your treating physician remains responsible for your medical needs, including any decisions about whether and how to use observations from your second opinion report in your care plan. Our report is independent expert input for that conversation.

Typically your diagnosis reports, imaging and scan reports, lab results, pathology or biopsy reports where relevant, and a summary of treatments so far. Do not worry about getting it perfect: we review your upload and tell you if anything is missing before the specialist begins.

Your written report is typically delivered in 5 to 7 business days once your records are complete. If you choose a video discussion, it is scheduled shortly after you receive the written report, at a time that works across time zones.

No. Apex Opinion provides independent, advisory medical second opinions: our specialists do not diagnose, prescribe, or treat, and no doctor-patient relationship is created between our specialists and you. The report is an informational input to support, not replace, the judgment of your treating physician.

You can, and it is a good way to understand the terms and prepare questions. But an AI is not a physician, holds no license, and takes no responsibility for what it tells you. An Apex Opinion review comes from a named US board-certified specialist who reads your actual records and puts their name to a written assessment. Use AI to get ready. Use a specialist for the opinion.

Our specialists work in a peer-to-peer consult, so your report is addressed to your treating physician and, on request, sent to them directly. Because our services are advisory and educational rather than a course of treatment, you are required to have a local, treating physician who remains responsible for your medical needs.

Hematology/oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, cardiology, interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurology, pulmonology, radiology and endocrinology, with more specialties joining the panel. If your condition falls outside these areas, tell us about your case and we will confirm coverage within one business day.

Before you decide

One independent expert can change how you see the decision.

Whether the answer is “the current plan makes sense” or “there may be another option worth discussing,” knowing before you proceed can matter.
